I enjoyed the video game Dead Space. Evenson — who also wrote the first one, 2010's Dead Space: Martyr — Catalyst is set three hundred years from now, and has scientists screwing around with the Black Marker that was found on Earth. I first saw this book on the Visceral Games' merch webpage, and at 416 pages, this books is definitely no pushover. I played Dead Space for the Xbox 360 last fall (yeah, I'm late to the party), and immediately pre-ordered the sequel just minutes after the credits started rolling. It is a fiction novel set in Chicxulub, Mexico. €The Dead Space world is incredibly vast and rich -- expanding its fiction into a novel lets us share parts of the story that just can't fit into videogames. Oh yeah I finished reading the dead space martyr book. As with Dead Space before it, Dead Space 2 is getting the transmedia treatment from EA, with a brand new animated feature and a graphic novel taking fans deeper into the dark universe this winter. Because it's written by Brian Evenson and it's called Martyr. I read Dead Space:Martyr and it's a fun read and is the backstory of Altman and Unitology. Necromorph slayers looking for more dismemberment will want to keep an eye out for the new Dead Space 2 expansion, Severed, coming (only) to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network soon.
